On Friday, December 17th, between 10:00 am and 1:00 pm DELTA staff will be applying updates to the Moodle environment, including the Courses, Projects, and Outreach server stacks.  This work will cause brief (<15 minute) interruptions to each Moodle environment.

On Wednesday, Dec 15th, between 12:00 noon and 6:00 pm, DELTA staff will be rebooting Linux servers to apply kernel updates.  Due to the redundant nature of the systems no interruptions to services are expected.

DELTA managed load balancers and network switches will have their firmware updated on Wednesday, December 15th, between 6:00 and 9:00 am.  There may be some brief (<10 minute) interruptions during this time, but no major interruptions are expected.

On Saturday, October 23rd, between 6:00am and 10:00am, DELTA staff will be performing maintenance on the Moodle and WolfWare environments. This work will cause brief (<10 minute) outages of WolfWare and all Moodle environments (courses, projects, and outreach).

On Monday, October 4th, between 6:00am and 7:00am, DELTA staff will be performing maintenance on the Moodle database servers.  This will cause a brief (< 10 minute) outage of Moodle.

On Saturday, August 28th, between 7-10am, DELTA staff will be applying updates to the Moodle environments, including Courses, Projects, and Outreach servers.

On Friday, 8/13 beginning at 8am, DELTA staff will be upgrading software on the servers that support WolfWare. Although a few brief outages are likely, we expect these updates to be applied relatively quickly and do not anticipate any extended downtime.

On Thursday, 8/12 beginning at 6am, DELTA Staff will be performing replacement of network equipment that supports many DELTA service offerings including but not limited to Moodle, WolfWare, WolfWare Wordpress, as well as the delta.ncsu.edu and online-distance.ncsu.edu websites. During this time, the aforementioned services may be unavailable in an intermittent or extended fashion. We intend to complete the procedure by 1pm, but the entire maintenance window is reserved in the event of any unforeseen issues. As a general recommendation, to avoid disruptions to workflow, we would encourage students, faculty, and staff to plan around this maintenance window if at all possible.

Update as of 8/13 2:55pm: We are pushing this maintenance window to tomorrow morning due to a configuration issue discovered with our environment. The new window is 8/14 from 7am-10am.

On Friday, 8/13, beginning at 12pm, DELTA staff will be applying updates to all current Moodle instances (Courses 2122, Projects, Outreach). We expect these services to incur roughly a 30 minute outage each. We do not anticipate needing the entire duration of this maintenance window, but it is reserved in the event of any unforeseen issues.

We are experiencing issues with the Turnitin License for Moodle. At the present time you will get an error message if you attempt to access a Turnitin activity in Moodle. Faculty: Please do not copy courses over to Fall 2021 spaces if you use Turnitin. We are attempting to resolve this as quickly as possible.

On Tuesday, May 18th, DELTA staff will be performing maintenance on the network, storage, and systems infrastructure upon which other DELTA services such as WolfWare, Moodle, and Mediasite depend. On Monday, May 17th, DELTA will be activating the “Require that all meetings are secured with one security option” setting as the default on all meetings. If users do not have a security setting enabled the Waiting Room will be enabled by default. There should be no interruption of service during this maintenance. On Thursday, April 29th, between 10:00 and 11:00 pm, DELTA staff will be applying updates to the Shibboleth Service Provider software. There will not be an interruption of service, but some users of WolfWare, Moodle, and WolfWare Wordpress may have to re-authenticate after the update has been applied. This update is to fix a potential Denial of Service vulnerability in the Shibboleth software.

Effective Sunday, April 25, Zoom will be enabling new Zoom Phone features in the Zoom for GSuite Add-On that will prompt all users to reauthorize Google’s access to include contacts and the company directory so that users can place calls directly through Google applications using Zoom Phone.
