On Tuesday, December 15th, from 1pm to 4pm, DELTA staff will be performing kernel and firmware updates to the servers supporting the DELTA services (WolfWare, Moodle, Mediasite, WolfWare Wordpress, DELTA websites, etc). Due to the redundant nature of the servers in general there will not be any interruption of services. However Wordpress based websites including WolfWare Wordpress, delta.ncsu.edu, online-distance.ncsu.edu will have short (10-15 minute) outages.

On Tuesday, December 15th, from 9 am to noon, DELTA staff will be performing updates to the Moodle and WeBWork environments. There will be short downtimes (10-15 minutes) of each of the Moodle environments and WeBWork. We do not anticipate the maintenance to take the entire time, but reserve the longer window for unanticipated issues.

On Monday, December 14ht, from 1pm to 2pm DELTA staff will be performing maintenance to the Mediasite server environment. No outage is expected during this time.

On Monday, Dec 14th, from 6am to 9am, DELTA staff will be performing updates to the load balancers and the Moodle database server. Any downtime is anticipated to be very short (less than 5 minutes). While we do not anticipate the maintenance to take the entire time, the longer window is reserved for unanticipated issues.

[UPDATE]: as of 7:35PM our system load appears to be back to normal . There was some activity starting at approximately 7PM that degraded server performance significantly. [original notification]We are aware that Moodle is experiencing performance issues. We are investigating now and hope to have it fixed shortly.

Some Mediasite users have been unable to access Mediasite this morning. This should be fixed now and we will try to determine why the issue happened.

A recent Chrome update is causing playback issues for some users in Chrome and Edge. There are two workarounds: 1) use Firefox, Safari, or Brave 2) append "?useHTML5=true" (no quotes) to the end of the presentation URL.<br /> <br /> There is an update to Mediasite that fixes this and it is currently scheduled to be installed in December.

Around 9:30am, two of the web hosts that support the Moodle Courses 2021 instance experienced a software exception that prevented some file uploads from occurring. The affected servers have been isolated, and uploads should be functioning normally at this time.

On Tuesday, 1 September 2020, DELTA and the Google Service Team will be removing the configuration and servers that supported the WolfWare Email Lists. WolfWare Email Lists were a transition from WolfWare Classic Email Lists, but were replaced by WolfWare Google Groups in March 2019.<br /> <br /> No impact on users is expected. The configuration and management of WolfWare Google Groups will not be changed.
