On Tuesday, August 9th, between 9 am and 12 noon, DELTA staff will be performing updates to the academic (courses) Moodle environment. This work will cause a brief (<10 minute) interruption while services are restarted.

Update: Turnitin is back online. We are experiencing issues with the Turnitin License for Moodle. At the present time you will get an error message if you attempt to access a Turnitin activity in Moodle. Faculty: Please do not copy courses over to Fall 2022 spaces if you use Turnitin. We are attempting to resolve this as quickly as possible.

On Wednesday, August 10th, between 8am and 12 noon, DELTA staff will be performing updates to DELTA's load balancer environment. While we do not anticipate any interruption to services, there is always the possibility that something could fail and cause an outage.

On Tuesday, August 9th, between 9am and 5pm DELTA staff will be performing updates to the server infrastructure. This work will cause brief (<10 minute) outages to WolfWare, WolfWare WordPress, DELTA websites, and DELTA Testing Center applications.

Update 1:49pm:  Zoom has failed over to an unaffected region.  Zoom meetings should be working normally now.

Update 1:35pm:  It appears that the initial cause was part of an AWS datacenter losing power.  Zoom seems to be working correctly for us now, but we will continue to monitor the situation. Something has happened to prevent users from connecting to Zoom meetings or receiving updates from Zoom.  This problem is occurring somewhere outside of the NC State network.  We will update with more information when we know it.

On Monday, August 8th, between 9am and 3pm, DELTA staff will be upgrading the Projects and Outreach Moodle servers to Moodle 4.  Both the Projects and Outreach Moodle servers will be unavailable for an extended period during this time.

On Saturday, July 30th, between 7 and 10 am, DELTA staff will be replacing the SSL certificates on myql-prod.delta.ncsu.edu.  This will cause a brief interruption to WolfWare, the testing center applications, and several DELTA websites while the new certificates are applied.

On Saturday, July 30th, between 7 and 10 am, DELTA staff will be applying updates to the Moodle 4 servers only.  This will not affect the summer courses, projects, or outreach servers.  VetMed students and faculty preparing their Fall courses may notice a brief (< 10 minute) outage during this time.

On Saturday, July 16th, between 7:00 and 8:00 am, DELTA staff will be replacing the Moodle cache servers for the Projects and Outreach Moodle services. This will not affect the primary Moodle-Courses service. There will be a brief (less than 10 minute) interruption of both Outreach and Projects while this work is performed. While we do not expect the work to take the entire time, the longer window is reserved for unexpected issues.

Moodle Courses for Fall 2022 will be updates the morning of Saturday, 5/28/2022, from 7-9 am. This update will NOT affect Summer courses or the Outreach or Projects servers. Faculty preparing for Fall courses and CVM summer access will be interrupted during this time.

On Friday, May 13th, between 7am and 5pm, DELTA staff will be moving DELTA public facing services including WolfWare, Moodle, and WolfWare WordPress to a new load balancer solution. While we do not expect major interruptions, there may be brief (< 5 minute) interruptions for individual services while the network routing settles back down.

On Tuesday, May 10th, between 9am and 5pm, DELTA staff will be upgrading the servers running the WolfWare WordPress service. Due to the need for database upgrades, there will be an extended outage to the service.

On Saturday, February 19th between 7 and 10 am DELTA staff will be performing maintenance on the Moodle environments. This maintenance will cause a brief (less than 5 minute) outage of each Moodle environment (Courses, Projects, and Outreach) while the databases are restarted.

On Saturday, January 22nd, from 7:00 am to 10:00 am, DELTA staff will be performing maintenance on the campus Moodle environment.  There will be a brief outage of each Moodle environment (courses, projects, and outreach) during this time, although we do not expect any extended interruptions.

Between approximately 10:20am and 10:45am today 1/10/22, the Moodle Courses 2122 server instance experienced a service degradation. Users may have encountered page load errors, timeouts, or general sluggishness while attempting to access the service. We have made configuration adjustments to help absorb the start of semester demand, enhanced our monitoring, and will continue to make improvements to enhance reliability. We apologize for the inconvenience.
