Zoom Maintenance - Login Security Enhancement

On Saturday, June 27, the email-with-password login option for Zoom is being deactivated for NC State users. This reduces the available login options to those that support two-factor authentication: SSO (Shibboleth) and Google. The vast majority of users already use Shibboleth to log in, so we do not expect this change to negatively impact most people. This change will not affect external users invited to Zoom sessions. No downtime is planned or expected for this change to be applied.

Zoom 5.0 required on May 30th

Starting May 30th, Zoom clients earlier than version 5.0 will no longer be able to join meetings. This is due to improvements in the message encryption protocol used by Zoom. If you have not upgraded the Zoom client to version 5.0 or later, when you attempt to connect to Zoom on or after May 30th, you will be prompted to upgrade.

It's taking some time for new presentations to display in search based channels. We have a case open with the vendor and are looking into it. This is the same issue that has occurred recently.
Protecting Zoom Meetings From Unwanted Disruptions

There have been some disruptions of Zoom meetings due to unwanted participants joining sessions. To prevent this from happening you can restrict who has access or take action during a meeting. DELTA services including Moodle and WolfWare servers will be undergoing maintenance between 8am and noon on Monday, March 9th. Due to the redundant nature of the systems we do not expect any major outages, however brief periods of sluggishness interruption may occur.

Moodle file upload issues (php tmpdir) -- RESOLVED

Beginning around 3:45am this morning (12/10), users may have been unable to upload files to Moodle. The error encountered referenced PHP missing a temporary directory. This has been resolved as of 8am, and we do apologize for the inconvenience.
