Mediasite Maintenance and retirement

Shibboleth update for WolfWare, Moodle

On Thursday, April 29th, between 10:00 and 11:00 pm, DELTA staff will be applying updates to the Shibboleth Service Provider software. There will not be an interruption of service, but some users of WolfWare, Moodle, and WolfWare Wordpress may have to re-authenticate after the update has been applied. This update is to fix a potential Denial of Service vulnerability in the Shibboleth software.
Zoom Update requiring re-authorization

Effective Sunday, April 25, Zoom will be enabling new Zoom Phone features in the Zoom for GSuite Add-On that will prompt all users to reauthorize Google’s access to include contacts and the company directory so that users can place calls directly through Google applications using Zoom Phone.
Moodle Courses 21-22 updates

On Saturday, April 17th, from 7am to 10am, DELTA staff will be applying updates to the Moodle Courses 21-22 servers. The process will cause a brief interruption of the service. This will affect courses in the WolfWare "Future" tab only. No current courses will be affected or have any interruption.
Mediasite Maintenance

On Saturday, April 3rd, from 6am - 10am DELTA staff will be applying updates to the Mediasite service. Due to the redundant nature of the system we do not expect an interruption of service during this time.
Mediasite Retirement

As part of the transition from Mediasite to Panopto, all recording in Mediasite (including classroom, desktop and uploads) will end on May 17, 2021. Existing Mediasite content will be available until May, 2022.

Zoom Updates

On Friday, March 5th, between 5pm and 6pm, DELTA staff will be making updates to the Zoom environment. These updates will not cause any interruption to the Zoom service, however users who are using a Zoom client older than version 5.4 will be forced to upgrade their client.
Moodle Maintenance

On Saturday, March 6th, between 6am and 9am DELTA staff will be performing maintenance on the Moodle service. While we do not anticipate a major interruption, there will be a short (5-10 minute) interruption during this time.
Zoom Shibboleth Login Issues

Around 1:15pm DELTA began receiving reports of errors when logging into Zoom via Shibboleth. Not all users are seeing this error. The error you see may be:
NC State Shibboleth Login - Message Security Error The request cannot be fulfilled because the message received does not meet the security requirements of the login service.
This is a problem from Zoom and we are in contact with them to correct the issue.
As an alternative log in method you can use your NC State Google account to login to Zoom. On the Zoom webpage ncsu.zoom.us there is a "Log in with Google" link in the footer. From the regular Zoom login page or the app you select the Google login option instead of SSO.
Moodle Maintenance

DELTA staff will be performing minor maintenance to all Moodle instances (courses, projects, and outreach) on Saturday, February 20, between 7 and 10 am. There will be a brief (5-10 minute) interruption to the services during this time.
"access denied" for some Mediasite users

Some Mediasite users are getting an "access denied" message when attempting to access Mediasite. DELTA staff are troubleshooting the issue now.
Mediasite Live Stream Audio Issue

Some users are experiencing no audio with Mediasite Live Streams. The problem seems to be inconsistent and does not affect on-demand viewing of the presentations. Update Feb 9, 7:53am: All updates are complete. On Tuesday, Feb 9th, from 6-9am, DELTA staff will be applying an upgrade to the Mediasite service. There will be an interruption to viewing Mediasite presentations during some of this time period. Some recording options may also be interrupted.

Moodle Email Delays

[UPDATE 1/21 11:00AM] This issue has been resolved, Moodle is sending email notifications normally (within 1 hour) [Original Notification] We are experiencing delays in emails sent by Moodle and are looking into the issue. This affects how long it takes for recipients to get email notifications for things like announcements or forum posts. All posts and announcements are displayed normally within the forum in the Moodle course; it is only the email copy that is delayed.
