DELTA Systems staff will be performing maintenance on the DELTA Linux servers and databases, applying updates to software packages and operating system updates. During this time WolfWare and Moodle will be unavailable while the servers are being updated and rebooted.

DELTA Systems staff will be performing maintenance on components of DELTA's core infrastructure including SAN storage and networking. During the maintenance there will be several short (10-20 minute) outages of DELTA services including WolfWare, Moodle, and Mediasite.

The monthly Windows Updates for the Mediasite servers will be installed between 5:00-6:00 am, on July 23rd, 2016. The servers will be rebooted one at a time. There will be a brief (several minutes) outage when the database and file servers are rebooted, but no other interruptions are expected. The entire maintenance is expected to be brief, but we reserve the larger window in case of unexpected issues.

We will be performing Mediasite maintenance on the morning of June 22nd. We will be performing several tasks including monthly Windows updates, a minor Mediasite version update, and some file system work. Due to the redundant nature of the systems, we do not anticipate a major outage, but there may be some occasional instability or short (less than 10 minute) outages.

We will be performing a brief maintenance of a Mediasite file server to clear up some lingering issues. There will be a short (~10 minutes) interruption of the Mediasite service during this time while the server reboots, but we do not expect any major downtime.

PHP versions will be updated on the older Moodle servers (academic year 2014-15 and earlier) to patch a potential security hole. There will be minor disruptions on these servers as the Apache web servers are restarted, but no major outages are expected. THIS DOES NOT AFFECT THE CURRENT ACADEMIC YEAR MOODLE SERVERS.

DELTA staff will be applying a hotfix to the Mediasite servers. Due to the redundant nature of the service we do not expect any downtime.

Monthly Windows Server updates will be applied to the Mediasite servers, requiring a reboot of the servers. Downtime should be limited to 10-20 minutes. Additionally a hotfix may be applied.

DELTA staff will be performing some minor updates to both WolfWare and Moodle, as well as launching the new servers for Summer and Fall 2016. Additionally some firmware updates will be applied to the storage infrastructure. There may be some minor service interruptions when the storage arrays and NAS appliances are rebooted.

DELTA will be performing major infrastructure maintenance on Monday, March 7th. This will cause a total outage of most DELTA services, including WolfWare, Moodle, Mediasite, Collaborate, and Equella, as well as many other DELTA-run tools. While we hope that the work will be completed and connectivity restored by mid-day, we are reserving the larger window in case the work takes longer than expected.

OIT will be performing their weather delayed Extended Maintenance on Saturday March 5th and Sunday March 6th https://sysnews.ncsu.edu/news/568f30e6. This may cause occasional login failures to DELTA services including WolfWare, WolfWare Classic, Moodle, Mediasite, and Collaborate. Additionally DELTA will be performing upgrades to the Mediasite SQL Server from 6:00 - 8:00 am on Saturday, which will cause an outage of Mediasite during this time.
