DELTA staff will update Collaborate to allow users to better manage large numbers of sessions and recordings. There should be minimal downtime during the update period. The update is only expected to take a few minutes, but the larger window is reserved for unexpected occurrences and to coordinate around other maintenance being performed.

DELTA staff will be performing maintenance on the WolfWare and Moodle services Friday, August 4th. The new WolfWare Email and WolfWare Wordpress will go into production, Moodle will be updated to version 3.2.4, and updates will be made to the WolfWare interface. Additionally the versions of PHP and MySQL on the servers will be updated, and most servers will be rebooted to install the latest Linux kernels.

Beginning on June 17, 2017, WolfWare is changing the way that certain types of streaming media files are delivered, in order to improve reliability of performance across all of our Moodle servers. Most users will not be affected by this change, but users who connect to Moodle at NC State from behind a firewall may be unable to access certain media files in Moodle. To solve an issue with streaming media files on Moodle, DELTA is changing how streaming media is accessed on Moodle. This change should be invisible to most users. However users who are attempting to view these files from behind a firewall may possibly experience some difficulty. If you do have problems please contact the LearnTech helpdesk at learntech@ncsu.edu.<br /> <br /> The maintenance should only take a few minutes and should not cause noticeable interruption in user access, however we reserve the larger window in case of unexpected problems.

The Projects and Outreach services will be upgraded from Moodle 3.0 to Moodle 3.2. Additionally the REPORTER plugin will be added to Outreach. These upgrades will cause lengthy outages to the Moodle Projects and Outreach services.

OIT will be performing their quarterly extended data center maintenance on April 22-23. As DELTA services including WolfWare, Moodle, Mediasite, and Collaborate depend on OIT services such as Shibboleth, DNS, and ActiveDirectory, there may be impacts to DELTA services. Such impacts are likely to include inability to login and permission issues, but could include more noticeable problems as well.
