Wildland Firefighter

Course Description

This course is designed to train entry-level firefighters leading to a Firefighter Type 2 (FFT2) certification. The National Wildfire Coordination Group (NWCG) provides national leadership to develop, maintain, and communicate interagency standards, guidelines, qualifications, and training that enable interoperable operations among federal and non-federal entities. The required FFT2 firefighting training will include online classes in: Basic Wildfire Orientation (S-110), Firefighting Training (S-130), Introduction to Wildland Fire Behavior (S-190) Incident Command Systems (I-100), Human Factors in the Wildland Fire Service (L-180) and NIMS An Introduction (IS-700). In-class meetings and Final Presentations are described in the syllabus. One full Saturday will be required. This class is the prerequisite for FOR 265.
