Course Description
NE 205 provides a detailed progression of thermodynamic concepts that are essential elements of an undergraduate education in nuclear engineering. Topic areas include nuclear reactor systems and examples, laws of thermodynamics, examples of nuclear reactor coolants, power cycles of light water reactors and advanced nuclear reactors, and transport phenomena. NE 205 provides a foundation of thermodynamics applicable to nuclear reactor systems that will prepare students for advancing to required upper-division heat transfer and thermal-hydraulic systems courses.
