Course Description
This class is designed for intermediate songwriters, musicians, beat makers, sample manipulators, and scratch artists using digital audio workstations (DAWs) as composition tools. Intended as a continuation of MUS 270, this course provides intermediate audio engineering and applied technical knowledge, such as equalization, compression, digital signal processing, and mixing, as well as the use of AI in audio processing, analysis, and creation. Weekly assignments demonstrate command of the sonic and technical aspects of digital audio, and above all, the craft of songwriting.
